Yes, that IS an excellent Stella. In fact the whole 11-4-77 show is a killer and contains my favorite Brown Eyed Women ever in the first set.

And doesn't that 2nd set just jam and jam and jam some more?

ahhhh, sweet '77!

6/22/83 and 4/9/82 both head into "Going Down The Road"...perhaps a little gentler than the usual bashers.
I agree, I always felt that the show was pretty much over after the killer post drums ballad of any show, but somehow I also have to appreciate most in attendance want the show to end up-tempo.
4/9/82 was the first real Grateful experience for me. I still remember how much I admired someone who has the courage to play the likes of Bird Song, Loser, To Lay Me Down and Stella Blue in front of a crowd of that size.
I was hooked.
(To be fair about it...there was also the draw of Sailor>Saint>Drums>Space>Other One>...)

Thanks for those suggestions...out of all the songs to emerge from Stella, I agree GDTRFB is least jarring...it allows youy a few precious seconds to really absorb and get "closure" for any spectacular Stellas.

One of my favorite shows also has an incredible Stella....5/8/80 .
As far as transitions I liked the few times I witnessed Stella into Playin (reprise) eg. 6-27-82, a very gentle segue!

OK, so this is sort of late and maybe no one cares...but...

I was listening to 3-20-77 Winterland today and it has a most perfect Stella out of The Other One and the Dead actually end it nicely! All you regulars have that show by now but I thought I would pass it on anyway.
